The 4th and last of the scarves woven on a silk warp dyed with various vegetable dyes I did over several years of ‘trying things out’, including cherry bark and cherry leaves, apple bark and apple leaves, Ling heather, Meadowsweet roots and, avocado skins and stones. The weft colours of yellows and oranges were dyed with onion skins and dead Buddliea flowers. Measures roughly 11” x 70”, plus the tasselled frings at either end. Care advice: hand wash in tepid water with a little detergent, (I use shampoo), and steam press to bring out the full shine of the silk.
