This is the 3rd Tiger scarf I have woven over the last 10 years or so. Each one is different and in this one I have selected parts of the tigers coat that caught my eye in the inspiration photo, which are the markings on the side of its body, the V shaped chest stripes, the whisker stripes and the markings on top of its head. The scarf is woven in 100% silk yarns; the warp is a 3 ply Japanese silk dyed black and the weft yarns are 30/2s Chinese silk dyed with natural dyes except for the deepest orange colour. The dimensions are 11” x 71”, plus the tasselled fringe at either end.
